I can barely stand that we’re already half-way through my baby’s first year! The only thing that eases the pain of my children leaving the baby stage {other than just having more babies, which I think is a perfectly respectable solution, thankyouverymuch} is the fact that they then enter the awesomely fun toddler stage. It may just be my most favorite stage yet. Well at least until they reach the next one.
We celebrated sweet Boland with his very first half birthday cake {two days late}, as is our little family tradition.
He seems to already be used to my abundant picture taking, and upon seeing the camera just sighed and gave a little wave. He’s a rather advanced for his age.
We sang ‘Happy Birthday’…the ‘cha cha cha’ version for all you mamas of preschoolers. Then Daddy, Emory and Watson helped blow out the candle. Can you tell Boland is thinking to himself, ‘what are these crazy people doing?’??
But I think he was okay with all the celebration once he tasted his first bit of cake.
He’s been the first of my three to not seem to take to food really well and right away. ‘Food’ being the pureed fruits and veggies I’ve made for him. After a little hesitation, he took just fine to the cake.
But mostly wanted to play in the icing. We love our little half-birthday tradition {even though we feel like we're always celebrating one around here!}.
But more so we just love these sweet smiley faces that we’re celebrating. Although they’re growing much too fast for my liking.
Hard to believe we’ll be celebrating his first birthday in no time!
Happy half birthday sweet boy!
