Mother’s Day Tea

The week of Mother’s Day, Emory came home from school with an invitation to a Mother’s Day Tea in her classroom. She was so excited about it and talked constantly about giving me a flower and walking me to a seat.

When I arrived at school that morning, the kids were all lined up inside the door of their classroom. As each mother came in, their child gave them a handmade tissue paper corsage, kissed them on the cheek, then walked them to their little chair.IMG_9380

While I waited on my turn, I read a few of the cute things they had answered about their mommies on the bulletin board. When asked what I do all day, she answered pretty correctly! As she got closer to her turn, she got the giggles. :)image

The kids went through a few of the little things they do every morning in circle time: the pledge, reciting their Bible verse and singing a couple of songs. After seating me, Emory had a meltdown because she couldn’t get around the other moms to get back to the carpet, so needless to say, she didn’t participate, and instead she stood with her hands at her mouth.  IMG_9393After the “performance” the kids came back to the tables and we had a sweet little tea party, complete with blueberry muffins and flower centerpieces made by the kids.imageIMG_9400After eating, Emory showed me her most favorite of all the centers: home living! She loves dressing up and always asks me to buckle her sandals “not tight” so she can slip them off to put on the dress-up heels in home living.image

There’s a serious lack of girls in the 3’s at Emory’s school, so each of the four 3’s classes only have 4 girls {and about 8 boys!}. As quite the minority, these four girls {Emory, Kaitlyn, Taylor and Caroline} have become good little friends. So sweet!IMG_9408

What a wonderful tea party, and a sweet way to kick off the Mother’s Day weekend!
