Last Soccer Game

{so exciting!}

We have all been anticipating Emory’s last soccer game. From the very start, it was the worst game yet.

She refused to put her hand in the pile. {Is that what it’s called?}Aaron and I had to force her to even go onto the field.Her little friend Cooper didn’t enjoy the games for most of the year, either, but today he finally jumped in and played! Emory still walked the field with her finger in her mouth.

Coopers little brother, Hudson, was tired of sitting in his stroller, so he let Watson take a sit and he pushed him around for the entire game. Watson was loving it!Finally the game was over and the teams high-fived.

But then the coach called Emory’s name to give her a trophy and she absolutely melted. I’ve never seen a kid who has hated the slightest bit of ‘spotlight’ so much.

I literally picked her up off the ground and put her in line to take a team picture.

Luckily the after-game snack and the anticipation of visiting the boiled peanut stand before heading home forced the tiniest of smiles.

We had wonderful coaches and met some great families, but thank the Lord it’s over! Emory has already asked if next season Watson can play and she can be the cheerleader!
